Answer #2 Visit your school's financial aid website. Myschool requires an application each year with itsfinancial aid office in addition to FAFSA. Theywill also ask for your tax form (1040EZ, 1040,etc.) and if you are a dependant you will need acopy of your parents' tax forms. If your parentsare divorced, you will need proof of that fromdivorce papers (if you are a dependant). If youfilled out the FAFSA to be sent to youruniversity, then they will receive it anddetermine how much aid you will get. Visit sitefor dates of rewards. - answered by Severus Snape

Answer #5 In theory, the only thing you need to do in orderto obtain Federal Aid is complete the FAFSA withyour school's code 6-digit code on it. However, your school can require a number of other itemsfrom you before your application is consideredcomplete, as follows:Make sure that your schooldoesn't have a separate institutional application. Many schools do have their own form on which theycollect supplemental information. If they haveone, complete it ASAP for maximum considerationfor financial aid. Many schools now require theirstudents to submit copies of parent [if you aredependent] and student tax returns, W2s included. Some schools require these items from you ONLY IFyou are selected for Verification. Check the SAR(Student Aid Report) -- which will be sent to youby FAFSA Central Processing once your form isprocessed -- to see if you have been selected forVerification (this will appear in the Commentssection). If you're been selected forVerification (or if your school is one of severalthat verifies ALL applicants), you will also needto complete a Verification Worksheet -- either thestandard federal form or a form that the schoolhas created. This form will ask questions aboutyour untaxed income, # in household, # in college, etc. If this is not your first time in college, you may need to provide your financial aid officewith information about your old school. There area few schools out there that require somethingthey refer to as a "financial aid transcript." Onthis form, they might ask you for informationabout scholarships/awards that you received in thepast. (Sometimes your current school will confirmthis data directly with your old school, so behonest). If you are a dependent student withsiblings in college, your school may actuallyrequire you to send a form to your sibling'sschool for his/her Registrar to certify yoursister/brother's enrollment there. (Why do theydo this? Because every sibling you have in schoollowers your EFC and increases your eligibility foraid.) These types of forms are more rare.Lastly,if this is your first year in college, make sureyour Admissions file is complete. Many aspects ofyour Fnancial Aid award depend on this. Forexample, your financial aid cannot be disburseduntil your school has confirmed that you haveearned a "qualifying degree" (i.e. they must haveyour final high school transcript that states thatyou officially graduated before you can get yourmoney).[See the links below for examples of someof the types of forms mentioned above.] - answered by FinAidGrrl
Answer #6 You will get an award letter sent to you. Beforethis is sent you must be fullymatriculated(enrolled). If you haven't seen youraward letter and it has been a while I wouldcontact the financial aid office to find out whatis going on. - answered by jen
