Question : How much money do you get through FAFSA?
I am a returning student after many years and I had to submit both my and my husbands income to FAFSA now i am worried they won't help me with tuition. We are not well off by any means hardly making ends meet...hence the reason I want to go back to school. Anyone know if they actually cover a 2 yr tuition?

Depends on your state of need- if you are areturning student and married it usually helpsmore (unless your husband is wealthy). 2 or 4 yrdoesn't matter. You may not get grants (those arehard to come by) but you may get loans.Subsidized- gov pays your interest, and unsub- youhave to pay interest after grace period. Atthe very worst, you will get unsub loans to payoff after college. I have no clue what it is for anontrad, but for the first year, it was about 2500for me, and the second was the same. After that,it increases. I am a senior now, with only unsubas well, and I get 5500. You can alsoget supplemental loans through companies likeSallie Mae, or apply for non trad scholarships-check your school and the web for some ideas.

It just depends. I graduated from a privatecollege, very expensive and I got enough to covereverything. Yet, at a state school that I appliedto, with much cheaper tuition, I was going to haveto pay. I think the government will give you aset award, but then the school you are going tomay offer you scholarships or grants depending onyour need and the amount of money that they haveavailable. Do some scholarship searching on yourown. Just type in scholarships in a searchengine, you should come up with a ton of info. Iwas able to get a $1000 scholarship from a simplesearch engine and a short essay. Good luck!!!!

well it all depends.. once you fill out the fafsaapplication there is an efc number they give youwhich is your expected family contributionbasically that number knowns whether or not youare eligible or not and what you can qualify for.Ask you financial aid office for the school youare choosing to attend to see what your next stepsare,. but if you don't qualify there are stillscholarships and loans and always people to helpso don't worry ok.

After you submit your FAFSA you get the EFC number(expected family contribution). The closer to 0the more money you get. I can tell you that minewas 0 and each semester my tuition/room/board isabout 5000. I get a 2025 grant and a 1000 loan. Iconsider myself to be the maximum compensatedstudent possible and the financial aid coverseverything. But that is included the loans that Ihave to pay back.

FAFSA is a annual thing and will not cover a twoyear tuition. You have to renew each year. It isso important that you start finding scholarshipsbecause the money FAFSA offers will not be enoughto cover the entire year. If you have children, that can make a difference in how much they giveyou too.
