Question : Can I call the credit card company and ask for a higher limit?
I got a credit card about 6 months ago with a limit of just $800. It's a student credit card. Can I call the credit card company and ask for a higher credit limit? I've heard you can ask for a lower interest rate and sometimes they'll give it to you, but is the same true for a higher credit limit? Thanks in advance.

Answer #7 as a general rule, banks are always happy to givea higher credit limit. However it does depend onthe specific bank that you've been issued thecard.Usually banks look at your income and sourcesof funding prior to increasing the credit limit, but they do not pay much attention to it. So mostprobably the bank will increase the credit limit,if not. tell them you found a better deal withsome other bank, they will then ask which bank;give them a bank's name in random and provide themwith a reasonable deal and i guaranty you thatthey will match it.(the deal) - answered by Dr. savvas
