Question : Is it possible to transfer credit card balances to others' credit card accounts?
Situation: Person A has multiple credit card balances on high interest credit cards and Person B has a credit card with a much lower interest rate. Due to a poor credit history, Person A can't obtain a low interest credit card. They've agreed to transfer it to Person B's low interest credit card and have Person A pay Person B the monthly payments to make it easier to pay down their high interest balances.Is this possible?

It doesn't matter what the situation is, theanswer is always no. Even married people can'ttransfer credit card balances to each other'scards unless they are both cardholders. Being anauthorized user doesn't count either. You have tobe the actual cardholder on both cards to transferbalances from one to another.

yes, you can transfer the debt. just call thecompany and give them the info, just to be on thesafe side have the other person with you in casethey need to verify with them. you may have to addperson b as a user on the person a's card to dothis.

one way to do it is to get a cash advance on thecard with a lower rate and use it to pay off theother cards. Person B will need to REALLY trustperson A, though

I think in this case person B would need to add Aas an authorized user on the account and then thetransfer can take place. Most companies will nottransfer debt if the names on the account aredifferent, but if person A is authorized on theaccount then there should be no problem and alsoperson A could then check the balance remainingwhen ever and also make payment on line with outhaving to bother person B. If you other credit card has a amount left on itthat doesn't exceed your first card you can calland set up a transfer of the first balance to thesecond companies card.
