When do you start filling out FAFSA and other scholarships for UC or CSU? is it before there deadline (Nov. 30) or afterwards?

I know at my school, is you are signing up for 09fall semester you would fill out your fafsa assoon as you file your taxes next yr (after jan)the sooner the better tho. if you are signing upfor the spring of 09 i would check this link

the FAFSA is available online on January 1st ofthe new year (so you definitley can't fill it outin November.) No school really tells you when youshould apply for your FAFSA, but the sooner thebetter. (It's said that the earlier you apply, themore financial aid you could possibly get.)However, one problem is that you have to get yourtaxes/income from your family's (and your own, ifapplicable) employers - which usually takes atleast until february or march. the earlier thebetter, though.
