Question : How to get a credit card with no credit and no checking account?
I'm young with no credit and no checking account. I've been looking online and have only come across debit cards or credit cards that require a checking account. Where and how can I get a CREDIT CARD w/ no credit and no checking account?

If this is possible, and I really don't know if itis, beware of this credit card offer. I haveheard of some cards of this nature having a $500credit limit, but the only catch is that you haveto put up $500 in a savings account to qualify forthe card. In other words, it is not really atrue credit card. This cards also haveastronomically high interest rates.

In the UK, you can't apply for any credit withouthaving a credit check or credit score completed.People will not lend you money without completingsome sort of checks to ensure that you are capableof paying the money back. For instance, if astranger came upto you in the street, gave you arandom name and address and asked to borrow £100from you, you would not give them the money! Ifthere was some sort of checks you could completeso you knew that they were who they said theywere, knew that they lived at that address and hada previous history of paying people back, youwould be more willing to lend them the money andthere would be a higher chance of you getting thismoney back.Obviously the above is only an example, and you, yourself, would never lend money to arandom person in the street. In effect though, this is what banks/finance companies are doing totheir customers which is why the checks have to becompleted.Hope this helps you to understand alittle bit more why they are completed!

You can get what they call a secured card, whichis almost like a debit card and bank account asyou have to put money in the credit account beforeyou can use the card. You do this for a whilethen the credit company may (usually does) giveyou a small line of credit, something like $250,pay that on time for a while they will increase itand so on. Honesty I'd get a bank account thentry to get a card through them. Are you astudent? If so, many banks offer students cardswhich are a bit easier to get. Good luck.

If you haven't needed a credit card up untilpeople have been telling you that you need one, don't worry about it. You really don't 'need' one.The only reason that I got my credit card (asideto help with my credit score!) was foremergiencies-and that was at my family suggestion.I ended up applying for a card through mybank/federal credit union. They will be easierthan any other place, especially if you have beenwith them for a while. Make sure you have NOannual fee. Aside from that, pick andchoose.
