Question : How much time does it usually take for the home loan process ?
I have put an offer for a home.I wanted to start the home loan process. Usually how long does it take for the home loan to finish.Small banks or big banks time frame, for a 160K loan with 25% down and excellent fico score.

Anywhere from 10 to 40 days is typical. Mortgagebrokers will usually process your loan much morequickly than a large bank. I just completed a12-day re-fi.

It took them about 30 days for us. But that mayall depend on your agent and how efficient theyare. Ours wasn't too efficient. We had to keep onher tail all the time. Customers shouldn't have todo that. If you just put in an offer and haven'theard back whether or not the seller has accepted,that may take about a week to hear back. Justdepends on how long it takes for them to do allthe deciding, and calling back and forth to acceptthe deal. Then, once your offer is accepted, theloan process begins. :-)
