Reviews: Customer service at its worse. I went to get $40 dollars from a wamu cash machine outside this bank. I am a member. Things have been fine. However the machine just spat out the receipt and my card - no cash. I went inside to complain. The woman asked me for all sorts of personal information including my social security number. I told her I felt uncomfortable giving her my number because of a recent ID theft issue. She typed my number in and then said ha now I have your social anyway. Things just went downhill from there. I was told I could not get my $40 there nor could I lodge a complaint. They stuck me on a dumb automated 1-800 number after giving me all this B-S- about how they had someone who checks their ATMs full time (might be off on a Saturday? Maybe it is out of money?). I wanted to close my account but no I cant even do that unless I want to loose the money because I have to get a CREDIT. I call the 1-800 on my cell phone. It takes me an hour and three transfers to talk to someone. Guess what I cant actually file a complaint until Monday because the reconciliation wont be available until the next business day. I cant leave my complaint I cant go through the steps he cant tell me how long it will take for me to talk to someone on Monday instead I have to call back again. I am closing my accounts ASAP. They just suck. They offered me no customer service.

Reviews: I dont know if their branches are excellent or not. Yet I am sick of their VISA card policies. Never apply their credit card nor do balance transfers with their offer. They will make money out of you with their hidden balance transfer charges and special payment posting policy. I got hit by them so badly. Ended up after using their credit card for a month and in order to stop them making more money out of me I have to stop using their card. I have excellent credit and paid them off every single statement. However I learned a painful lesson from doing balance transfer business with them. Dont let their small benefit blind you! They will get you back big time. Not worth to have any accounts with them. I am boycotting them. Check out all the online complaint websites to read how bad a company WAMU is.

Reviews: I called the Oakland branch to obtain the Coporate phone number. The person who answered the phone sounded irritated at the request and placed me on hold while he looked it up. After he gave me the phone number i called the corporate number only to be hung up on twice in a row by whomever answered the phone without even a hello.
