Reviews: 'HOW NOT TO RUN A BUSINESS' I am writing from an insiders perspective having worked for the company about 5 years ago. (Unfortunately I went against my gut instinct on these folks because I was transitioning to work in the San Diego area from outside the country). I quit because they issued me a paycheck that was not cashable. They failed to appear before the Labor Commisioner to abitrate the dispute and the HR person who was there when I was came and spoke on my behalf (they still owe me $1427 in pay plus assessments by the labor board). Here's one for you they had a really good employee named Mike Grady who really earned a lot for the company and was about as honest a plumber as you could hope for...they ripped him off for about $6000.00, I did learn one thing...how not to run a business. Never put your wife in charge of money when it means going from no days late to 30 days late to 60 days late and then bankruptcy (This is exactly what happened when the owner Frank Tevis made his wife, Farna, Chief Financial Officer. She was all wacked out with Jehovahs Witness theology. I watched him drink a cup scalding hot coffee, totally frying his insides, in one big gulp!. Total idiot, needs anger management classes...destroyed an antique office chair over some petty incident of his own making. There were police visits to quell company disputes, a lock down of the company building to prevent disgruntled employees from seeking retribution for the shameful way they we treated, accusations of the owners doing drugs (as attested to by the mechanic who was related to the wife) supposedly they asked him to purchase and transport illegal drugs across the border. Accusation by the owners of muling (running drugs in their company vehicles) by the techicians. Inept technicias who were taught the art of upselling...convincing the customer to buy off on having unnecessary work perfomed. Overcharges by the company for parts the technicians used, over charges by the techs to the customers to try and make up the loss (customer gets a double whammy!) Everything is a facade to dupe anyone who may contribute to their favorite charity...Themselves. The Owners are a totally narccistic couple. How they are still together when there was a general acknowledgement among employees, that the wife had seduced at least one of the technicains to sleep with her, is beyond me. I was privy to the number of employees who quit or were terminated in the two years prior to my arrival. Something like a 400% turn over rate in employees. No legitimate company could stay in business with that kind of turnover. Rumors that the owners put company money into a ficticious company (named after their dog klondike) to shield it from assest seizure by creditors! Like another comment on this company they indeed try to bedazzle people with apparent wealth ...fancy cars, jewelry, clothes...nothing butthe best to impress you foolish customer so they can get you to pay their way. As one technician Marty Shannon so aptly described their problem..."they want a champaign lifestyle on a kool-aid budget". They will lie, cheat steal whatever because they have made money their GOD and they worship it, fight for it, live for it! Stay as far away from this business or anyone, closely associated to it, or anyone who tells you they are ok ...oh and they were part of a TURKO report on KUSI a couple of years ago for ripping off little old Lady's.
