Reviews: I have been a member of San Diego County Credit Union for at least 14 years. I used to be very happy there however in recent years they have become way to large to deal with. Theie homey commercials are not true AT ALL you are treated like a number and the answer is always NO. Also the their fees have become too high. They have an overdraft protection service where they will transfer money from your savings to your checking if you are short. Last month I made an error in my checkbook which caused me to become short. I had 8 seperate transactions come through in two days and instead of adding the amounts together to make the transfer they made a transfer for EACH transaction at $4 a pop. Instead of charging me $8 ($4 for each day) I was charged $32. What a rip off. Today my daughter discovered that she had made a debit transaction when she already had a pending transaction which would result in an overdraft ($25 fee). Her account was actually charged for 2 overdrafts ($50) when there was enough money in her account to cover one of the transactions. When she contacted customer service to ask for a refund of one of the fees they were very rude and basically said that she just didnt get it and that they would not refund her fee. I have several co-workers that bank here and they all have similar stories. Dont open an account here. I am closing all my accounts.
