Reviews: As many other reviews here state, Bank of America is poorly run from their branches to their online services. I generally try to cut service workers a break, but the belligerently antagonistic of Bank of America employees is inexcusable. I opened an account with them 6 months, and they have already managed to foul up 3 routine procedures causing me hours of wasted time on customer service hotlines and writing email. I have yet to speak to an organic being on the hotlines, and judging by the non-sequitur responses I receive to emails, it would seem that this department has been taken over by AIs as well. Brave new world... This is a reflection of poor management. Anyway, if you are looking to open a new account, stay as far away from Bank of America as possible and look into either local banks/credit unions or newer, innovative online banking services.

Reviews: Customer service at its worse. I went to get $40 dollars from a wamu cash machine outside this bank. I am a member. Things have been fine. However, the machine just spat out the receipt and my card - no cash. I went inside to complain. The woman asked me for all sorts of personal information including my social security number. I told her I felt uncomfortable giving her my number because of a recent ID theft issue. She typed my number in and then said, "ha, now I have your social anyway". Things just went downhill from there. I was told I could not get my $40 there, nor could I lodge a complaint. They stuck me on a dumb automated 1-800 number after giving me all this B-S- about how they had someone who checks their ATMs full time (might be off on a Saturday? Maybe it is out of money?). I wanted to close my account, but no, I can't even do that unless I want to loose the money because I have to get a CREDIT. I call the 1-800 on my cell phone. It takes me an hour and three transfers to talk to someone. Guess what, I can't actually file a complaint until Monday because the reconciliation won't be available until the next business day. I can't leave my complaint, I can't go through the steps, he can't tell me how long it will take for me to talk to someone on Monday, instead, I have to call back again. I am closing my accounts ASAP. They just suck. They offered me no customer service.
