Reviews: If you value your credit rating, don't rent from Desertwide. I signed a lease with Desertwide for an Apt on Thomas Rd. When we arrived in Phoenix to move in, Desertwide said they had made an error and the property would not be available for several weeks after the lease start date; they claimed our lease null and void, because they had chosen not to charge our security deposit to the credit card we provided for their convenience. Actually, their lease contains a clause for just such an occasion, so really all we had leased was a promise. They claimed to have no contractual obligation to provide a similar apartment, but as luck would have it, they found us a house (which cost more). Property management agency "Desertwide Properties" did not fulfill it's lease obligations regarding landscaping for the 1.5 years that we occupied the house, despite our appeals. So we gave 30 days notice, and left the property in good condition. Desertwide then tried to re-rent the property for MORE than our monthly lease price, but failed to rent it in a declining market with many vacancies. So the property owner did not renew his contract with Desertwide. Now Desertwide has tried to collect rent from us for the months AFTER we moved out, until the end of the lease. Their collection agency has placed a negative note on my credit bureau record. They have reduced my credit score, which cost me 0.75% additional interest on my mortgage.
