Reviews: Warning: if you are a home owner dont let Bryan Jones do your appraisal. He works for the banks. I just had a home appraisal with him. I had a realistic perspective given the market conditions. I have a home in Mill Valley with a cottage. He hyper-focused on the 2 unit fact and gave comps along the lines of a 2 condo building a duplex and a multi-use bldg. He even used a comp in San Rafael that is located in a bad neighborhood until my mortgage broker pointed out how ludicrous that comp was. None of these comps reflected the value of a Mill Valley home with a POTENTIAL cottage rental. He would not reconsider when presented with data of sales in my neighborhood. My loan is now dead. Addendum: I just read his comments to justify his perspective. One he listed the lack of a door as a negative where there IS a brand-new Andersen door. Two he noted NO energy-efficient upgrades which means he ignored a brand new energy-efficient laundry room and $55k worth of new energy-efficient windows and doors. My perspective on his abilities just get worse the more I hear from him.
