Reviews: My name is Stacy Gonzales and I know that a story was done on the Texas Car Title and pay day loan company i have a very different issue i am dealing with. I have had my loan for 9 months now paying 180.00 a month till i could get the large lump sum together. I found out after the fact that it was going to be that high each month till i got it paid off and i was dealing with the mistake that i made by getting the loan. The original loan was 600.00 and i have paid over 1600.00 in finance charges my due date to extend was on the 8th of march so i paid the 180.00 for the finance charge and when i got my income tax check on the 19th of march i went to pay the balance of 630.00 which is what the paper showed the balance to be. When i got there to pay they told me the balance due was 799.52 which is what it would be with the finance charge and i asked them why it was so high since i was in 11 days ago and payed the 180.00. She told me it showed in the contract that the finance charge was put back on if the balance was not paid in three days so i came home to look my paper work over. I read over the reciept they gave me it read that if you payoff early you will not have to pay a penalty and you may be entitled to a refund of part of the finance charge. It also read if borrower makes payment early less intrest will be charged. When i called them back to discuss that they told me it was in the original contract. So i got the original contract out and they could not pin point on the phone where it showed that so i hung up with them telling them i would read it for myself and that my husband and i would come in on sat which was the next day. So after reading the original contract i found no such clause and the only thing that talked about three days was if you were going to cancel and that reads: Borrower has the right to cancel this agreement at any time before midnight of the third day after the date of this agreement by delivering to the cso the written notice of cancellation provided by the cso. To the extent permitted by law borrower must return at the time of cancellation all funds recieved by borrower excluding any fees or charges. But i knew that did not pertain to me for i was not canceling i was paying off the loan. So when my husband and i went on sat march 20 2010 they told us the same thing and could not show in the contract where it stated that but said that the clause about canceling and paying off were the same thing and that we would have to pay the 799.52. She called her district manager and the manager told her she would not change anything. They gave us an 800 number for customer help and after being on hold for 1 hr we went back in the store and asked to talk to the district manager. The lady told us she could not give us the number but would call and give her our number. She went to a back office and when she returned she told us that her district manager refused to talk to us and we could not have her name or number. So we left and after another hour on hold with the help line my husband called and asked if there was any other number for us to call cause we had already been on hold for two hours. She said that they may not be open because it is the weekend so here we are the longer we wait the more time runs out on taking care of this but is it fair for us to pay 360.00 within 12 days for finance charges?
