Reviews: Bank does not regularly send statements makes erroneous charges cannot provide information on how it calculated interest cannot or ewill not send wire transfers its cashiers checks take 10 days to clear other banks its telephone information appears to be an offshore operation with personnel struggling with Pidgin English. Getting something out of this bank is like pulling a tooth. All around not a customer service oriented institution. Very bad indeed -- do not recommend this institution at all.

Reviews: You have to be very careful at this bank!!!! I have found their fees to be worse than any other bank. Worse than Wells BoA Chase...they seem to find a way to charge $70 for an overdraft even though the posted fee is $35. When I call in to ask (which I have numerous times) they give you some BS explanation about how the fees are correct and how they cant reverse them because it wasnt bank error. The only way they would reverse fees is when I got loud and continuously bugged them about it. In my opinion they seem to manipulate transactions in their favor generating extra overdraft fees. I say this because when I call in for an explanation even the banker cant explain the situation in a way that makes since and I work in business. It seems as though even they are confused! Dont fall for the scam for a free iPod. in my first 2 months with this bank I paid enough fees to purchase 2 iPods. And thats in 2 months! The employees at the branch seem like really great people. Its not the employees that cause problems; its the policies of Bank of the West. It seems as though the employees in the branch dont have much say either. They are extremely reluctant to credit back phantom fees and it seems as though they are on a pretty tight rope from corporate. The customer service is just OK. They do all these commercials and advertisements about their stance on customer service and the joke is that its just average. I have had both better and worse at other banks.

Reviews: I dont know if their branches are excellent or not. Yet I am sick of their VISA card policies. Never apply their credit card nor do balance transfers with their offer. They will make money out of you with their hidden balance transfer charges and special payment posting policy. I got hit by them so badly. Ended up after using their credit card for a month and in order to stop them making more money out of me I have to stop using their card. I have excellent credit and paid them off every single statement. However I learned a painful lesson from doing balance transfer business with them. Dont let their small benefit blind you! They will get you back big time. Not worth to have any accounts with them. I am boycotting them. Check out all the online complaint websites to read how bad a company WAMU is.
