Reviews: I don't know if their branches are excellent or not. Yet, I am sick of their VISA card policies. Never apply their credit card nor do balance transfers with their offer. They will make money out of you with their hidden balance transfer charges and "special" payment posting policy. I got hit by them so badly. Ended up after using their credit card for a month, and in order to stop them "making" more money out of me, I have to stop using their card. I have excellent credit, and paid them off every single statement. However, I learned a painful lesson from doing balance transfer business with them. Don't let their small benefit blind you! They will get you back big time. Not worth to have any accounts with them. I am boycotting them. Check out all the online complaint websites to read how bad a company WAMU is.

Reviews: Good basic savings account rate and better than average checking account rate (free account, small minimum fee). Car loan rates are stellar. Service is just amazing - smart employees looking out for customers' interest, even help with finding good deals on car purchases. ATMs are easy to find once you realize that basically all credit unions and 7-11 stores are free ATMs for you. Couldn't be happier to have made the switch from Washington Mutual and Wells Fargo to Cal State 9 (www.calstate9.com) - regardless of the savings rate improvement, I saved much more by simply not paying fees anymore (not even an overdraft fee when I over drafted twice in a week!). Just an amazing bank.

Reviews: As many other reviews here state, Bank of America is poorly run from their branches to their online services. I generally try to cut service workers a break, but the belligerently antagonistic of Bank of America employees is inexcusable. I opened an account with them 6 months, and they have already managed to foul up 3 routine procedures causing me hours of wasted time on customer service hotlines and writing email. I have yet to speak to an organic being on the hotlines, and judging by the non-sequitur responses I receive to emails, it would seem that this department has been taken over by AIs as well. Brave new world... This is a reflection of poor management. Anyway, if you are looking to open a new account, stay as far away from Bank of America as possible and look into either local banks/credit unions or newer, innovative online banking services.

Reviews: Just saying you'd "never go back to this place" is pretty unhelpful and frankly critical of a business. Dummy. I have used Citifinancial in San Mateo twice. One time the manager gave me a ride from BART and the second time the manager helped me open a checking account at CitiBank and gave me a ride to BART. That's above and beyond and appreciated. Loan rates tend to be high, however.
