Reviews: I don???t like writing reviews and it takes a lot from me to even write this but I feel that everyone needs to know how unprofessional this Washington Mutual branch is to their customers. My husband & I have separate bank accounts and we have been with Washington Mutual for many years. I go to this branch for convenience only. Unfortunately my experience with this bank has been discourteous and unacceptable. This branch flatly refused to have me deposit or cash our California state tax refund because the check has both our names and we do not have a joint account. The very rude lady that helped the bank teller that was helping me said for me to open a joint account with my husband so that we can cash the check then I can deposit it if I want. So??? she wanted me and my husband to open a joint account cash the check then close the joint account?? It makes no sense to me! When I told her this and I pointed out again that my husband and I have separate accounts with Wamu this woman got upset and repeated that we need a joint account because the check stated ???and??? and not ???or??? on our names and she just walked away. I was left with the teller who just follows orders from the ???lead teller??? who made me think like I did not understand simple English. This lead teller needs more bank training (in addition to taking English as a second language or go back to India where she came from) because she obviously too uneducated and too ignorant for people to trust their monies with. This situation may have not been so bad if it was handled appropriately. It is very obvious that the bank tellers in this branch do not care about their customers. They do not know how to greet people and they are very unprofessional. They don???t care that there are 10 people waiting in line for one teller who could care less if you are in a hurry because the tellers in this branch have no sense of urgency. I???m finding out that there are many people who are unhappy with this branch and refuse to bank with them. How did I take care of my issue? Simply went to another Washington Mutual branch got my warm greetings from the teller and in less than five minutes we were out the door happy. Moral Lesson: NEVER BANK WITH THIS BRANCH!
