Reviews: We LOVE Credit Union 1. Why? 1) They have the LOWEST fees of ANY bank/credit union in Alaska. Call around, look @ websites, compare. We did, and CU1 beat EVERYONE by A LOT. 2) OUTSTANDING customer service. Always with a smile, always willing to go the extra mile - totally there for us in a pinch as if we were their family-GREAT. 3) ART - Automated Response Telephone System (?) -- my hubby and I love talking to ART and getting account info 24 hrs/7days a week. (Even my techno-phobe mom likes using it.) 4) Online access - hubby checks account images, we download into our money management program, transfer between accounts, anytime/anywhere, from any computer. 5) Online Bill Pay - paying all our bills at the same time as checking our account statement and not writing a check, finding a stamp, etc...? Priceless! 6) Points Program - normally I don't groove on "reward" programs, but this one just sits there in the background, racking up points for the services we use, and we can redeem for gift certificates, prizes, and even LOWER LOAN RATES. How awesome is THAT?!?! 7) Free Checking! (Ummm, free? OKAY!) 8) The Member Service folks on the phone are always pleasant and wonderful. We have a friend who's had money trouble (life trouble, actually) who had to deal with collections and she RAVED about how good they were to her - can you imagine being happy with a collections person? Wow. *** These are in the order they occured to me - customer service is #1 important to us, followed by online access, and they are unparalleled in both, but I encourage you to find out for yourself what's most important, try Credit Union One and see how they excel. I just can't tell you how very pleased we are with our bank - something I would never have imagined I would EVER say! (We have accounts at Alaska USA & Wells Fargo and their service is gray compared to the color-ific service from CU1.)
